History

AMG® was founded in 1967 in an old mill in Burgstall, Germany, by Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher.

At the 24 Hours of Spa, AMG® unveiled the Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.8 V8 sedan, which became known as “The Red Pig.” It finished first in its class and launched AMG® on the automotive map.

In 1976, AMG® and about a dozen employees moved to a purpose-built workshop and office space in the town of Affalterbach, where they still develop Mercedes-AMG® vehicles to this day.

After 23 years, AMG® and Mercedes-Benz made their partnership official. With a signed agreement of cooperation, AMG® would have full access to the Mercedes-Benz dealer network.

When it won the Russian Grand Prix, the Mercedes-AMG® Petronas team became the first German team to win a Formula 1 championship. They’ve defended their title in the four seasons since, proving that AMG® performance is truly unmatched.

50 years after it all started, Mercedes-AMG® releases the limited-edition Mercedes-AMG® GT C, featuring exclusive Graphite Grey Magno paint and black chrome highlights.

EV AMG® Models

There are currently three models in the AMG® lineup: the 2025 Mercedes-AMG® EQE Sedan, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG® EQE SUV, and the 2025 Mercedes-AMG® EQS Sedan.

All of the current EV models in the AMG® lineup can go from 0-60 mph in under four seconds. However, the fastest model is the 2025 Mercedes-AMG® EQE Sedan, which can go from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds.

The 2025 Mercedes-AMG® EQS Sedan can produce up to 649 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque. That being said, all EV models in the AMG® lineup can produce well over 600+ hp.

All EV AMG® models have nearly identical charging times, but technically, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG® EQS Sedan can go from 10% to 80% battery levels in 31 minutes with a DC Fast Charging station.

The 2025 Mercedes-AMG® EQE Sedan and the 2025 Mercedes-AMG® EQE SUV both come with the Winter Package and the Pinnacle Trim. The 2025 Mercedes-AMG® EQS Sedan comes with the MANUFAKTUR® Signature Interior Package, Exclusive Trim, Pinnacle Trim, and Air Balance Package

Every EV model in the AMG® lineup comes equipped with the state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz User Experience feature, which acts as a virtual assistant powered by artificial intelligence.
